We pretended we were on a plane to Japan. * First, we put on our seatbelts! * It takes about 9 hours in a plane from Australia to Japan. * On the plane we can have a snack and a drink, watch a movie, go to the toilet, read a book, have a snooze, and play games. * Back in the classroom, we watched slideshows of Tokyo on the SmartBoard. We loved seeing Tokyo Tower, the giant spider, and the electronics stores in Akihabara. * Using the SmartBoard to help, we drew pictures of Tokyo in our books.
How many Japans fit in to Australia...?
We worked together to find out how many Japans we could fit in to Australia.
Australia is much bigger than Japan!
We went outside and sensei drew a big map of Australia and Japan with chalk.
One person stood in Australia and had heaps of space!
5 people stood in the chalk map of Japan - crowded! Japan has 5 times as many people as Australia, even though it's much smaller.
Nao, our visitor from Japan, read Hugo's Japanese book to 2Green.
